Madagascar & Islands of the Indian Ocean
MADAGASCAR, ALDABRA & REMOTE ISLANDS of the SEYCHELLES
From Tanzania we sail to the spice islands of the Comoros, voyage on to Madagascar to see lemurs before ‘the Galapagos of the Indian Ocean’ – ALDABRA. Weaving through the remote island chain of the coral islands of the outer Seychelles we will make full use of our aquatic hotel before arriving into Mahe.
With the Durrell Conservation projects as our raison d’etre, our wildlife viewing will be spectacular, combined with the cultural sites of ANJOUAN in the Comoros Islands and French colonial Diego Suarez. We visit 2 National Parks in MADAGASCAR as well as the inaccessible Madagascar coast to walk, swim and snorkel. As our expedition ship crosses the Indian Ocean we expect to see whales, dolphins and flying fish whilst walks ashore will offer monkeys, fruit bats, many species of lemur, chameleons, rare tortoises, nocturnal walks and bird watching. Snorkelling on the coral reefs of the outer Seychelles plus the extraordinary archipelago of ALDABRA described by DAVID ATTENBOROUGH as ‘ ‘one of the wonders of the world’ : it will be a most memorable holiday.
From our comfortable expedition ship we will anchor off the coasts of Madagascar land by zodiacs onto remote sandy beaches in the Seychelles and will have experts on hand to guide and inform us on our breath taking surroundings.
