Season of Mists

LAKELAND ARTS & CRAFTS: banish November grey with cosy fires in Victorian elegance. Built in the late 19th century the LANGDALE CHASE HOTEL,  a grand Victorian building, has been stylishly refurbished.  All turrets, stained glass and balustrades, the hotel sits on the shore of Lake Windermere, windows are angled to catch superb views of the fells, lawns sweep down to the lake, log fires crackle, bedrooms have been given a contemporary upgrade. Touring the Lakes, we visit the Arts & Crafts gem – Blackwood House, see Ruskin’s lake-side home Brantwood on Coniston Water, stroll round charming little Hawkeshead and while away evenings with FRIENDLY BRIDGE.
